Decorating our tree
First, it's been such a long time since we've posted anything to this blog that we want everyone to know we're still alive and well. Elizabeth is still about three weeks out from her due date, Zeke is still a rambunctious two year old, and I'm still getting fatter by the moment. Now on to our post.....
We bought a Christmas tree last week and set it up in a perfect corner of our front room. It seemed like the trees were less expensive than they were in the past so the tree itself was kind of an early Christmas present. After bringing it home and placing it in its stand, we were anxious to get some decorations on it as the rest of our home was already adorned in the typical Christmas fashion. We threw the ornaments all over the floor and let Zeke do what he does best.........run around and make a mess. At that point we began searching for the lights to place on the tree but they w
ere (and still remain) nowhere to be found. They must have been misplaced during our recent move. Unfortunately, that brought things to a halt for that evening. Elizabeth bought a few strands of lights the next day so we were able to resume the festivities the following evening. After placing the lights on the tree Zeke had a chance to help with the ornaments which he really enjoyed (see video). After we were done and
turned on all of the lights, Zeke astounded us with a magnificent display of Kung Fu skills that he has learned from watching Kung Fu Panda over and over again. I'm not sure how that really fits into the whole theme of Christmas, but he was happy. The tree looks great and there's nothing that beats the smell of a real Christmas tree........other than Kung Fu demonstrations by a two-year-old.
